we are a small family operated dairy farm located on a bluff on 30 acres overlooking the Cumberland River in Trousdale County in Middle Tennessee.
We sell our 100% all natural artisan goat milk soap, other natural products & hand crafted goods. Our all natural farm products are made from 100% all natural, wild crafted and simple ingredients. Windy Bluff Farms all natural artisan goat milk soap is approved by a licensed esthetician.
In season we offer some of our ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf goats from heavy milking and showing lines for sale that we have not retained. Our goats are managed as naturally as possible and free range on untreated pasture, during the day, under careful watch of our two livestock guardian dogs. At Windy Bluff Farm all of our Nigerian Dwarf Goats are Dam raised and handled multiple times a day. Our goal is to breed and raise quality goats that exceed in health, conformation, milking abilities and friendliness; whether you are wanting to show, have a few backyard milkers, start a small herd or just have a few pet companion goats.
Sarabeth who is the Owner and Manager of Windy Bluff Farm and Windy Bluff Dairy Goats has her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science, Livestock reproduction & genetics, biology, chemistry, managing livestock, forage crops and Pre-Vet Studies from Middle Tennessee State University.
Linwood Lamb:
We are getting a lot of positive comments on our feta cheese and spinach lamb sliders. They come in packs of 6 patties, are great on the grill and are quick and easy to prepare. Give them a try this week.
From last week blog, a reminder the weather is warming up and so are our grills. Try some lamb on the grill for 4th of July celebration or anytime this summer. All the cuts listed under Linwood Lamb work great on the grill:
Lamb Loin Chops
Lamb Rib Chops
Lamb Leg Steaks
Feta Cheese and Lamb Sliders (My girls really like these)
Ground Lamb
If you need recipes or tips on how to cook, just ask.
As a general rule, we grill all of our lamb to a 135-140 degree F internal temperature. The thinner cuts only take 6 or 8 minutes to grill.
For the thicker cuts (rib and loin chops) I split the grill in half and put all of the charcoal on one side (hot side; direct cooking) and leave the other side empty (cool side; indirect cooking). I sear the chops on the hot side for 1 min then flip them and sear the other side of the chop for 1 minute. Then I move the chops to the cool side of the grill and let them cook indirectly with the top down for another 8-10 minutes until the temperature reaches 135. Seasonings are pretty simple: salt and pepper, and maybe a little ginger.
Calico Farms:
New this week are our gluten-free S’mores cookies – the perfect treat for summer…or anytime. We had our standard recipe available last week & decided to make a GF version for our friends that need it. Rich, dark chocolate chips by Pascha & Dandie’s vegan vanilla marshmallows will have your taste buds dancing. The coconut sugar is a lower glycemic sweetener that gives the “graham cracker” taste we crave in this cookie. As with all our baked goods, these are dairy-free/vegan as well. Sold in 6-packs & ready to “add to cart”!
Also new are our frosted lime cookies – a buttery soft shortbread-type cookie with lime zest both in the dough and sprinkled on top of the light icing. Beyond refreshing.
Still want other cookie options? Try our dairy-free lemon buttermilk or strawberry thumbprints.
If you’re looking for our ever-popular scones, this week we’re featuring our blackberry lime. It’s a truly unique & delicious combination of summer-flavor favorites. These are full-size scones, organic & dairy-free, sold in 3-packs.
Finally, for our savory fans (or just to off-set the sweets lol) don’t forget about our 2 salsa varieties and various pecans (buttered) & nut flavors (spicy or extra-spicy herbed mixed nuts). Both are tasty options for snacking or adding to recipes.
NashPhilly:
Cold soups for hot summer days! We are now offering two refreshing , light and delicious soups for the market. We are making a cucumber, yogurt and dill soup. And we will be continuing making the popular watermelon gazpacho for the rest of the summer.
We have quite the variety of chef inspired salads on the our menu this summer. Caprese Salad (fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, and freshly picked basil) Spinach and strawberry salad ( feta cheese, toasted almonds, cucumbers and grilled chicken) NashPhilly Cobb salad ( hard boiled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes) Greek salad ( Greek olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, freshly chopped thyme and oregano.) All dressing are made fresh scratch!
Another Philly sandwich! Have you had a south Philly roast pork sandwich? The pork is also slow roasted and pulled. It’s cooked with lots whole garlic cloves, onions, and rubbed with Italian herbs and finished with freshly squeezed lemon. On the sandwich is the pork sautéed spinach greens and provolone cheese. If you like Philly cheese steaks I am sure you would enjoy this too!
Triple LLL Farm: Several GREAT June Specials still available.

MISC MARKET NOTES
Am I the only one who feels like fall should be knocking on our door? Maybe it was the early heat, maybe it’s been the intensity of our current social/political climate. Many are dealing with family crisis situations . . . and we’re all tired and hot and just want summer to be OVER.
It’s not. A look at the calendar will confirm the intense days of August and storm season are still before us. There’s nothing to do but buckle down, stay cool, be prepared, and get through it. What follows is a hodgepodge of ideas, from mental to physical, sensible to quirky and practical to delicious.
1 Get some REST! Sleep longer if you need to cope with the heat. And if your heart and mind need rest as well the link here is worth examination. Neither your body nor your internal constituents function well when spirit/soul/body are not in alignment and at peace.
2. Socks in the Freezer?? This article from Women and Home has some practical and unique ideas!
3. Pioneer Woman shares 20 (delicious!) Cold Meal Ideas.
“Life Happens”: A hearty THANK YOU to our Market Family for your kind understanding about our recent schedule disruptions. We appreciate everyone who reached out and certainly hope such situations can be avoided in the future.
Katherine’s Kitchen Just a Few Words . . .
Right now there is a lot to process for most of us. I don’t know if I can say anything meaningful but we all need encouragement right now, so I want to share a couple verses to tell you to keep going.
“ Then Yahweh said to Joshua, ‘See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men.’” (Joshua 6:2)
“Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”(Matt. 24:32)
Let us remember that when God wants to overcome an evil force, he will do it, and, like Joshua, have faith that it is already as good as done. Our Lord is coming soon, so let us take hardship as a reminder to be watchful and not as a discouragement towards despair. Don’t get overwhelmed by all there is to do. What is one little good thing you can set aside some time for this week before the week is done? I’m going to try to chop and freeze some bulk produce I’ve bought. Sometimes a little thing like that can lead to really great things later.
~Katherine’s Kitchen
We look forward to seeing you next Friday at one of our pickup locations. Thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. in Clayton, Clarkesville, or Gainesville.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, then your order is NOT complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes. Thanks for your support!
